I'm trying to get back in the swing of things. There has been so much grousing on the net about money and art - I thought I'd hurl. I guess the main reason for my growing disdain for all the smart talk about the corruption of art- no one seems to be DOING anything about it. It's all talk! Chelsea looks just like it did 3 years ago - only more condos. The same art is being talked about, the same artists are being talked about, the same, the same, the same....

I am currently putting together a show of artists for Rough Trade. I want to have a thoughtful group of disparate visual ideas all coming together for this new take on abstract painting. I am quite excited by the artists I've been in touch with and as the show forms I'll be writing about them and making the case for why I believe they are opening new vistas for abstraction. All that in good time. For now all I can say is we here at Henri will be working harder to make a difference rather than just shooting our mouths off. Words backed up by actions and exhibits are the key! Stay tuned!
