In case you haven't heard Jerry Saltz is moving to the New York Magazine. I wondered why his column in Modern Painters was missing in this month's issue. Speaking of Modern Painters - WTF happened to that magazine. I know they changed hands and editors a few months ago but the slide in quality has been precipitous. Matthew Collings who is always interesting is still there, but the rest of the magazine has become a borefest - and now with Jerry gone it looks to be even more of a snooze. What a shame really. You could always find interesting articles on painting and the look and feel of it were high end. Their web site has also become a losing proposition - which I don't understand. I mean 2 geeks with laptops could make that a viable entity instead of the flash infested-javascripted-dreamweaverplotted-goopfestofnothingness that it is online. Well KUDOS to Jerry - he's got a bigger platform now and hopefully he'll let his mojo work - there's a lot of crap that needs addressing!
